Medihoney Products by Comvita & Derma Sciences
Medihoney is the leading brand of Manuka Honey based products for wound and skin care. There are essentially 2 product lines, the first being a range of wound care and skin care formulations suitable for home use, the other being a series of honey dressings for professional wound and burn care. Both lines can be purchased below.
The products are produced under an agreement between the pharmaceutical company Derma Sciences and Comvita New Zealand.
Derma Sciences manufacture and sell Medihoney products to the professional and medical markets around the world as well as manufacturing the over the counter products for Comvita.
The dressing line now has strong clinical and nursing support among the wound care community, and the dressings were the first honey based products to be cleared for use on wounds and burns by the FDA in North America.
Buying Medihoney Products
Please read the usage instructions for each Medihoney product before making a purchase, as their uses range from everyday skin care to the healing of serious wounds. The prices for the professional wound care dressings are higher than the rest of the range.
All products contain medical grade honey.
Medihoney Antibacterial Apinate Dressing provides an effective barrier that inhibits bacterial growth including antibiotic-resistant strains - MRSA, VRE and Acinetobacter.
Medihoney Antibacterial Gel Sheet is a sterile, non-adherent wound dressing comprising Antibacterial Honey and Sodium Alginate for wound care.
Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel is a topical preparation which can be used for both chronic and acute wound care.
Medihoney Derma Cream helps protect vulnerable skin and moisturise dry skin conditions. Suitable for skin prone to Eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
